Our Walking with God can be full of unexpected adventure and opportunities that we never dreamed of – or not. It can be exciting – exhilarating even – or not. We can either yield to His amazing leadership, or we can say ‘no thank you.’ We can either spend our lives playing it safe, or we can enter in through the narrow gate, remembering that ‘ God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.’ (2 Tim. 1:7).
When I think back to my early plans for my life, the pathways that I have walked with God were not even remote possibilities. If you asked the ’20 something me’ if I planned to do missions in Thailand or Mexico, or pastor a church, or lead a group into incorporating an established school into a ministry mix…that ‘me’ would have looked at you like you were from another planet!
I am thankful that the wisdom of that ‘me’ did not win out. I am thankful that I am spending my time walking into adventure with God – and with you!
