Pastor David Watson and his wife, Glenda.

Thank you for taking the time to ‘surf by’! You are a welcome guest on our website, and I want to extend a special invitation to visit one of our services. The leadership team at Sewell Mill, with God’s support and direction, is striving to create an environment that meets the needs of the community around us. That is done through at least three processes.

The first is to be observant. We are trying to recognize the needs, hurts and desires of those who live around us. The second is to seek God’s power. More than anything else, we desire to be a powerful church – meeting the spiritual needs of a community in need. Finally, we do it with the support and encouragement of people just like you – people who are looking for a place to serve and experience the power and presence of our living God.

Please, come be a part of what God is doing at Sewell Mill – we want to be a part of your life, and we need you to become all that God intends for us to be.

David Watson
Pastor, Sewell Mill Baptist Church

Pastor David has been living in the Marietta/Smyrna area since the 4th grade – which makes him a native by Georgia standards. He is a graduate of Kennesaw College with a BS in Economics and he also holds an MDiv in Biblical Studies from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. David is currently back in school at NOBTS and should earn his Doctorate in Pastoral Counseling within 18 months. Learning is a passion in his life.

His family is another life passion. He has been married to Glenda for 35 years; has two children, Courtney and Kyle, and two grandsons – Isaac and Noah. Pictures are always available for review!

As pastor of Sewell Mill, he is also passionate about ‘ministry that involves’ – practical teaching, foreign mission encounters and local service projects. As a result he has led Sewell Mill members on four mission trips to northern Thailand, one trip to Mexico and another to St. Croix. The church is also very involved in Operation Homefront and other ministries designed to support our military personnel.

Finally, there are things that motivate David – martial arts, kayaking, scuba diving and a host of other things he rarely has time to do!
